Who we are...
The Chesapeake Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association (CCPAAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to support of the Chesapeake Police Department (CPD). All members of the CCPAAA are graduates of the Chesapeake Citizen's Police Academy. The CCPAAA maintains an on-going education program for alumni and provides volunteer services in support of CPD.
Activities of the alumni association include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Promoting awareness and providing education in law enforcement issues and community concerns by conducting “continuing education” police-related programs on a monthly basis.
- Conducting fund-raising events which provide scholarships for children of CPD personnel.
- Acting as an unofficial public relations group within Chesapeake to help further community-based policing programs.
- Presenting and promoting a positive image of law enforcement, CPD and their constitutionally mandated functions.
- Providing community support and volunteer assistance to the department, as requested.
